【摘要】:Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationofchlorineinusedoils,fuels,andrelatedmaterials,including:crankcase,hydraulic,diesel,lubricatingandfueloils,andkerosene,allcontaining25%(mass/mass)water.Bromideandiodidearealsotitratedandreportedonamolarbasisaschlorine.Theentireanalyticalsequence,includingsampling,samplepretreatment,chemicalreactions,extraction,andquantification,isavailableinkitformusingpredispensedandencapsulatedreagents.Theoverallobjectiveistoprovideasimple,easytouseprocedure,permittingnontechnicalpersonneltoperformatestinoroutsideofthelaboratoryenvironmentinunder10min.Thetestmethodalsogivesinformationtorunthetestwithoutakit.TestMethodAispresettoprovideagreaterthanorlessthanresultat1000mg/kg(ppm)totalchlorinetomeetregulatoryrequirementsforusedoils.TestMethodBprovidesresultsoverarangefrom200to4000mg/kgtotalchlorine.Forbothtestmethods,positivebiaswillresultfromsamplesthatcontaingreaterthan3%(mass/mass)totalsulfur.Whileafalsenegativeresultwillnotoccur,otheranalyticalmethodsshouldbeusedonhighsulfuroils.TestMethodB,LowerLimitofQuantitation-Intheround-robinstudytodevelopstatisticsforthistestmethod,participantswereaskedtoreportresultstothenearest100mg/kg.Thelowerlimitofquantificationcouldthereforeonlybedeterminedtobeintherangefrom870to1180mg/kg.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecificsafetystatementsaregiveninSections3,6,and7.
