【摘要】:ThispracticeprovidesforusinganunbondedcappingsystemintestinghardenedconcretecylindersmadeinaccordancewithPracticesC31/C31MorC192/C192MinlieuofthecappingsystemsdescribedinPracticeC617.Theelastomericpadsdeformininitialloadingtoconformtothecontouroftheendsofthecylinderandarerestrainedfromexcessivelateralspreadingbyplatesandmetalringstoprovideauniformdistributionofloadfromthebearingblocksofthetestingmachinetotheendsoftheconcreteormortarcylinders.1.1ThispracticecoversrequirementsforacappingsystemusingunbondedcapsfortestingconcretecylindersmoldedinaccordancewithPracticeC31/C31MorC192/C192M.Unbondedneoprenecapsofadefinedhardnessarepermittedtobeusedfortestingforaspecifiedmaximumnumberofreuseswithoutqualificationtestinguptoacertainconcretecompressivestrengthlevel.Abovethatstrength,levelneoprenecapswillrequirequalificationtesting.Qualificationtestingisrequiredforallelastomericmaterialsotherthanneopreneregardlessoftheconcretestrength.1.2Unbondedcapsarenottobeusedforacceptancetestingofconcretewithcompressivestrengthbelow1500psi[10MPa]orabove12000psi[80MPa].1.3ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.(WarningConcretecylinderstestedwithunbondedcapsrupturemoreviolentlythancomparablecylinderstestedwithbondedcaps.ThesafetyprecautionsgivenintheManualofAggregateandConcreteTestingarerecommended.)
