【摘要】:High-purityethyleneisrequiredasafeedstockforsomemanufacturingprocesses,andthepresenceoftraceamountsofcarbondioxideandsomehydrocarbonscanhavedeleteriouseffects.Thismethodissuitableforsettingspecifications,foruseasaninternalqualitycontroltoolandforuseindevelopmentorresearchwork.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofcarbondioxide,methane,ethane,acetylene,andotherhydrocarbonsinhigh-purityethylene.Hydrogen,nitrogen,oxygen,andcarbonmonoxidearedeterminedinaccordancewithTestMethodD2504.Thepercentethyleneisobtainedbysubtractingthesumofthepercentagesofthehydrocarbonandnonhydrocarbonimpuritiesfrom100.Themethodisapplicableovertherangeofimpuritiesfrom1to500partspermillionvolume(ppmV).1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forsomespecifichazardstatements,seeSection6.1.3Thevaluesstatedinacceptablemetricunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesinparenthesesareforinformationonly.
